That is because our people have been at the forefront of every type of music which has been composed and performed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If I refer to Shul Music, there are the traditional songs, emanating from many centuries and with influences which often represent the diaspora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the classics, we have composers from Felix Mendelssohn to Gustav Mahler, Jaques Offenbach to Aaron Copland a and Leonard Bernstein and George Gershwin. The last two were instrumental in more popular music such as West Sude Story and Porgy and Bess.
