HOVE ALBION 1<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>13 \u00a0 APRIL \u00a0 2024<\/strong> \u00a0 - \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> BURNLEY \u00a0 1 \u00a0 \u00a0 BRIGHTON \u00a0 &amp; \u00a0 HOVE ALBIOIN \u00a0 1 \u00a0  \u00a0 - \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PREMIER \u00a0 LEAGUE \u00a0 - \u00a0 at TURF \u00a0 MOOR, \u00a0 BURNLEY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking to get their season \u00a0back on track, the Seagulls travelled to Lancashire \u00a0to meet struggling\u00a0Burnley at Turf Moor in the Premier, the game being covered by BBC Radio Sussex Sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last time out the Albion had lost 0-3 at home to Arsenal in the Premier on the 6 April and for the visit to Burnley the Albion had to make two enforced changes, with Joel Veltman and Joao Pedro replacing the injured Tariq Lamptey and Julio Enciso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Burnley had gained promotion to the Premier after finishing top of the Sky Bet Championship last\u00a0season. \u00a0The Clarets made an indifferent start to the current campaign and have occupied one of the\u00a0 bottom three relegation positions all season. \u00a0Earlier this season in the reverse fixture at the Amex on the 9 December 2023, the teams drew 1-1, with Albion's goal coming from Simon Adingra (77m) after Wilson Odobert (45m) had opened the scoring for the Clarets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In their previous outing Burnley lost 0-1 at Everton on the 6 April and for the visit of the Seagulls Head Coach Vincent Kompany made two changes, one enforced, from that game, with Hjalmar Ekdal\u00a0replacing Dara O'Shea (suspended) and Vitinho coming in for Charlie Taylor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Relegation-threatened Burnley dictated the early exchanges between the teams but the Clarets missed\u00a0a golden opportunity of taking an early lead when Wilson Odobert crossed the ball to Jacob Bruun\u00a0Larsen, who from five yards out somehow contrived to place his shot wide of the Albion goal. \u00a0The Seagulls then sparked to life and Simon Adingra had two efforts saved by Clarets goalkeeper Arijanet Muric, Joao Pedro then sent a header wide of the target and keeper Muric made a fine save to keep\u00a0out a Jakub Moder free-kick. \u00a0Overall, a disappointing first-half for the Seagulls. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Half-time 0-0.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Albion started the second-half on the front foot and the well-organized Clarets defence blocked\u00a0goal-bound shots from Adingra and Pascal Gross. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A \u00a0gift from the Seagulls enabled the home side to take the lead on 74 minutes when Carlos Baleba's back-pass to keeper Bart Verbruggen was a fraction\u00a0short but Verbruggen's attempted clearance rebounded off the on-rushing Josh Brownhill into the\u00a0empty net.<strong> \u00a00-1<\/strong>. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an effort to turn things around the Albion made a triple substitution on 77 minutes with Adam Lallana, Ansu Fati and Facundo Buonanotte replacing Adingra, Moder and Danny Welbeck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within two minutes the Seagulls found themselves level by means of a gift of a goal from their hosts, when Sander Berge eased the ball back to Muric but the Clarets keeper inexplicably knocked the ball into his own net for an extraordinary own goal. \u00a0<strong>1-1. <\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On 89 minutes Albion brought on youngster Mark O'Mahony for his Albion debut, in the place of Joao Pedro. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Final-score 1-1.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Match stats:<\/strong> \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Albion had 20 attempts at goal, with 8 on target and won 5 corners, free-kicks conceded - 8.<br>Burnley had 11 attempts at goal, with 3 on target and won 4 corners, free-kicks conceded - 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TO \u00a0SUM \u00a0UP \u00a0- \u00a0On the balance of play, a case of two points thrown away by the Albion due to their\u00a0inability to convert the opportunities created. \u00a0The spurning of chances is a problem the Albion will have to address in the forthcoming close-season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Albion line-up (4-2-3-1):<\/strong>- \u00a0Bart Verbruggen;
