Thankfully, the vile George Galloway lost his seat. Diane Abbot, who is no friend to Israel triumphed in Hackney North and Stoke Newington.

Since the outbreak of war on October 7th the UK has supplied Israel with both military and diplomatic support. Certainly, Keir Starmer is a supporter of Israel, and admitted that his family tries to keep Friday night so his children know about their Jewish heritage on their Mother’s side, but it is doubtful he will have the whole support of his party on Israeli matters.

Many British Jews feel uncomfortable as the memory of Jeremy Corbyn still lingers. Having said that, under the Conservatives the streets have been packed full of hate marches and it is noticeable recently, how young girls are wearing full black Islamic dress as a political statement. London doesn’t feel comfortable at all, and while Rishi was sending words of support for British Jews and promising safety it didn’t translate to the MET or the streets.

It is reported that the Labour Party will recognise a Palestinian State but when you listen fully to his words he said , they will recognise a Palestinian State when it is secure for Israel. He will have his work cut out trying to reign in the extreme forces that still linger in the Labour Party.

The UK election is the least of the worries that Israel is facing . The attacks on the north have increased drastically this week, with over 200 rockets and 20 drones on Thursday alone .

The IDF had assassinated a senior Hezbollah commander, Abu Nimmer Nasser, triggering an escalation in fire. While Israel is obviously hurting Hezbollah , they are showing no signs yet of complying with United resolution 1701 which demands they move back , behind the Latani river and disarm.

In preparation for all out war in the north the RamBam hospital in Haifa has prepared a 2,000 bed hospital underground with 24 operating rooms. Underground parking lots are being prepared as shelters. A war in the north could be catastrophic for Israel and may trigger a wider conflict , but until Hezbollah move back and stop firing on towns and cities in the north , the more than 80,00 displaced residents cannot return home .

Despite the Iron Dome, Hezbollah are being quite successful in their rocket attacks hitting the shopping mall in Acre and drones hitting other buildings in Sfad. Iran have indicated that they may join the war and attack Israel directly if the Israel enters Lebanon.

The ancient Roman author Vegetius famously said “Si Vi Pacem: para bellum” If you want peace, prepare for war.

Our soldiers are sadly still being killed daily in the north , Gaza and in the West Bank. We have lost to date 350 soldiers . The violence over spilled this week to Carmiel, where an Israeli Arab went on a stabbing spree killing one soldier and wounding one other. Counter terror operations are currently underway in Jenin.

Hamas continue to surprise Israel, regrouping and still sending fire into the Gaza envelope. They have many snipers hidden among the civilians, private houses , schools, Mosques and hospitals, which presents a great danger to the IDF who are being lured into booby trapped buildings, causing multiple injuries when they accidentally trigger hidden devices.

A major tunnel network more than a kilometre was discovered leading out from the centre of Gaza and destroyed . Four divisions are currently fighting in Gaza carrying out targeted raids in Shajaiya (a neighbourhood in Gaza City where Hamas have regrouped ).

A large rocket manufacturing site was discovered and destroyed in Rafah. We know now why they didn’t want the IDF to enter Rafah and used every humanitarian reasons to pressure the world to allow them to continue their terror activities from Rafah. Over 900 terrorists have been eliminated in Rafah alone !

The prisons in Israel are so full of terrorists that a decision was taken to release those who do not pose an immediate threat . Israel acts very strangely towards its enemies, sending truck loads of food and aid that Hamas hijacks and sells at a huge profit to fund their terror. Providing electricity to the strip for many years that mostly is never paid for and now releasing terrorists does not show strength, but exposes the soft under belly of the Jewish State who have failed to deal properly with those who are committed to our destruction. October 7th was a long time coming and Israel has failed to protect her citizens by succumbing to the demands of the West. They are not acting with an “Iron Fist” and too many soldiers are being killed to protect the Palestinian civilians who support Hamas.

Israel and Hamas are reportedly reviewing new terms for the release of the hostages. The head of Mossad is expected to meet with the Prime Minister of Qatar. 120 remain in captivity on day 272 of the war. The mother of the released female hostage, Noa Arganami sadly passed away this week. At least she lived to see her daughter freed. Noa’s boyfriend is still being held in Gaza.

The behaviour of Turkey this week towards an ElAl plane that had to land due to a sick passenger was absolutely disgraceful. They refused to let the passenger disembark and receive medical treatment and refused to refuel the plane. Hopefully, this will not be brushed under the carpet and the Civil Aviation Authority will investigate and punish Turkey . Turkish Airlines should not be allowed to fly over or land in any country that adheres to to the rule of law and hopefully people will think carefully about visiting a country that aligns itself with terrorists.

So Mazel Tov to Keir Starmer and may we look forward to a peaceful Shabbat and the release of the hostages.

Shabbat Shalom

Kind Regards

Carolyne Davis

From Carolyne Davis The UK woke to new Prime Minister, with a landslide win for Labour’s Sir Keir Starmer ; a wipe out for both the Conservatives and the SNP and even seats for the newly formed far right Reform Party .
