In this week's&nbsp;Parshah,&nbsp;<em>Tetzaveh<\/em>, we discover the special garments worn by the priests and&nbsp;high priest&nbsp;when serving in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/parshah\/article_cdo\/aid\/2133493\/jewish\/What-Was-the-Tabernacle-Mishkan.htm\">Tabernacle<\/a>. Following that, we read&nbsp;G\u2011d's instructions to&nbsp;Moses&nbsp;regarding the seven-day inauguration for the Tabernacle. The portion concludes with a description of one of the vessels of the Tabernacle\u2014the Incense Altar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/parshah\/TorahReading.asp?AID=15566&amp;p=1\">First Aliyah<\/a>:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/library\/article_cdo\/aid\/433240\/jewish\/God.htm\">G\u2011d<\/a>&nbsp;commands the Jews to use the purest of olive oils for the daily kindling of the&nbsp;Menorah. Moses is instructed to consecrate&nbsp;Aaron&nbsp;and his sons by dressing them in special priestly garments. The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/library\/article_cdo\/aid\/1426382\/jewish\/Torah.htm\">Torah<\/a>&nbsp;describes the making of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/library\/article_cdo\/aid\/4195084\/jewish\/The-High-Priest-in-Jewish-Tradition.htm\">High Priest<\/a>'s&nbsp;<em>ephod<\/em>&nbsp;\u2014 a reversed apron which covered the back \u2014 and its precious-stone-studded shoulder straps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/parshah\/TorahReading.asp?AID=15566&amp;p=2\">Second Aliyah<\/a>: We now read about the High Priest's&nbsp;<em>Choshen Mishpat<\/em>&nbsp;(\"Breastplate of Judgment\"). It contained four rows of precious stones, each row containing three stones. Artisans engraved the names of the Twelve Tribes of&nbsp;Israel&nbsp;upon these twelve stones. This cloth breastplate contained a fold wherein the&nbsp;<em>Urim v'Tumim<\/em>, a parchment on which was written G\u2011d's Name, was inserted. The&nbsp;<em>Choshen&nbsp;Misphat<\/em>&nbsp;was then secured by straps which connected it to the&nbsp;<em>ephod<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/parshah\/TorahReading.asp?AID=15566&amp;p=3\">Third Aliyah<\/a>: This&nbsp;aliyah&nbsp;describes the last two of the garments which were exclusive to the High Priest: the&nbsp;<em>me'il<\/em>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<em>tzitz<\/em>. The&nbsp;<em>me'il<\/em>&nbsp;was a blue robe which was adorned with golden bells and cloth \"pomegranates.\" The&nbsp;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/parshah\/article_cdo\/aid\/2498395\/jewish\/The-Golden-Tzitz.htm\">tzitz<\/a><\/em>&nbsp;was a golden band worn on the forehead, which was engraved with the words \"Holy to G\u2011d.\" The Torah then describes the four garments worn by both the High Priest and the regular priests: tunics, turbans, sashes and pants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/parshah\/TorahReading.asp?AID=15566&amp;p=4\">Fourth Aliyah<\/a>: This&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/library\/article_cdo\/aid\/1584066\/jewish\/What-Is-Aliyah.htm\">aliyah<\/a>&nbsp;prescribes the procedure for consecrating Aaron and his sons as priests. Aaron and his sons were brought to the door of the sanctuary, they immersed in a&nbsp;<em>mikvah<\/em>&nbsp;(ritual pool), and were dressed in the priestly garments. Moses then offered various inaugural sacrifices on their behalf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/parshah\/TorahReading.asp?AID=15566&amp;p=5\">Fifth Aliyah<\/a>: The Torah continues describing the procedure for the offering, and the consumption of the inaugural sacrifices. G\u2011d commands Moses to repeat this inaugural service for a seven day period, after which the consecration will be complete. Also included in this section is a description of how future High Priests are to be inducted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/parshah\/TorahReading.asp?AID=15566&amp;p=6\">Sixth Aliyah<\/a>: G\u2011d instructs the Jews to offer two burnt offerings daily for perpetuity; one lamb in the morning and one in the afternoon. G\u2011d promises to dwell in the Tabernacle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/parshah\/TorahReading.asp?AID=15566&amp;p=7\">Seventh Aliyah<\/a>: This section describes the Incense Altar which stood in the sanctuary. The priests are commanded to burn incense upon this altar twice daily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition as it is the Shabbat before Purin we also re <strong>Parsha Zachor<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading has-vivid-purple-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-29166d213f7dc03700b6f287d78516fe\">Zachor in a Nutshell<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deuteronomy 25:17\u201319<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This being the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/library\/article_cdo\/aid\/633659\/jewish\/What-Is-Shabbat.htm\"><strong>Shabbat<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;before&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/holidays\/purim\/article_cdo\/aid\/645309\/jewish\/What-Is-Purim.htm\"><strong>Purim<\/strong><\/a>, on which we celebrate the foiling of&nbsp;Haman&nbsp;the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/library\/article_cdo\/aid\/3942715\/jewish\/Who-Were-Amalek-and-the-Amalekites.htm\"><strong>Amalekite<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s plot to destroy&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/library\/article_cdo\/aid\/3852163\/jewish\/Who-Are-the-Jews.htm\"><strong>the Jewish people<\/strong><\/a>, the weekly&nbsp;Parshah&nbsp;is supplemented with the \u201cZachor\u201d reading (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/9989#v17\">Deuteronomy 25:17<\/a>\u201319) in which we are commanded to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/therebbe\/article_cdo\/aid\/92038\/jewish\/Zachor-Remembering-and-Obliterating-Amalek.htm\"><strong>remember<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;the evil of&nbsp;Amalek&nbsp;and to eradicate it from the face of the earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Remember what&nbsp;Amalek&nbsp;did to you on the road, on your way out of Egypt. That he encountered you on the way and cut off those lagging to your rear, when you were tired and exhausted; he did not fear<\/em>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/library\/article_cdo\/aid\/433240\/jewish\/God.htm\"><strong><em>G\u2011d<\/em><\/strong><\/a><em>.
