{"id":4682,"date":"2025-04-09T09:12:41","date_gmt":"2025-04-09T09:12:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.shavuatov.co.uk\/?p=4682"},"modified":"2025-04-09T09:13:58","modified_gmt":"2025-04-09T09:13:58","slug":"jack-kayes-albion-chronicle-35","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.shavuatov.co.uk\/?p=4682","title":{"rendered":"Jack Kaye's Albion Chronicle 35"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">2 \u00a0 APRIL \u00a0 2025   \u00a0 <br><strong>BRIGHTON \u00a0 &amp; \u00a0 HOVE \u00a0 ALBION \u00a0 0 \u00a0 ASTON \u00a0 VILLA \u00a0 3 <\/strong>\u00a0 <br>PREMIER \u00a0 LEAGUE \u00a0 - \u00a0 <br>at \u00a0 the \u00a0 AMERICAN \u00a0 EXPRESS \u00a0 STADIUM, \u00a0 FALMER.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the disappointment of their FA Cup exit to Nottingham Forest the previous weekend, the\u00a0Albion were back at the Amex for a Premier League clash with Aston Villa, the game being broadcast over the airwaves by Talksport and BBC Radio Sussex Sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having gone out of the FA Cup 4-3 on penalties to Forest on the 29 March, the Albion made five changes to their starting line-up from that game, with Lewis Dunk, Diego Gomez, Simon Adingra, Brajan Gruda and Joao Pedro replacing Adam Webster (injured), Carlos Baleba, Yankuba Minteh, Georginio Rutter (injured) and Danny Welbeck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last time out Aston Villa won 3-0 at Preston North End in a FA Cup Quarter-Final tie on the 30\u00a0March and for their visit to the Amex Head Coach Unai Emery made two changes to his starting line-up from that game, with Pau Torres and John McGinn coming in for Tyrone Mings and Marco Asensio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In their meetings in the Premier last season it was honours even, with Villa winning 6-1 at Villa Park on the 30 September 2023, with their goals coming from Ollie Watkins 3 (14m, 21m &amp; 65m), Pervis Estupinan (26m, own goal), Jacob Ramsey (85m) and Douglas Luiz (90+7m). \u00a0Albion's consolation was scored by Barcelona loanee Ansu Fati (50m). \u00a0In the return game at the Amex on the 5 May 2024 the Albion won 1-0 with Joao Pedro (87m) scoring the decider. \u00a0<br><br>Previously this\u00a0season the teams drew 2-2 at Villa Park on the 30 December 2024, with Albion's goals coming\u00a0from Simon Adingra (12m) and Tariq Lamptey (81m).
