Shavua Tov

Good Shabbos, on what is likely to be a very wet weekend

Further to my report last week that our readership had climbed to 1,400 a week, it is now contracting to a mere 500. However whilst the United states and UK account for 60% of this, the number of countries covered now extends further, and includes countries in all continents.

Everyone is welcome, but I would like to have some input as to what you think, as the website is designed thinking mostly of people from the South of England.

Looking at the columns they read, the most popular seem to be the recipes and Jack Kaye's football columns, but rarely the most recent of any.

This week, our Parsha is Ytro, and covers the giving of the 10 Commandments. One part of it I find particularly interesting and that is that Moses's Father in Law advises him not to do everything by himself, but to set up a Council.

Jack Kaye's column this week covers Brighton's rather disappointing draw with Everton, where they conceded a goal, literally from the last kick of the match. As Jack states, our goal of European footballs is disappearing, and although I am sure we will stay up, the glamour has somewhat disappeared.

Rachelle's recipe is for Beef in Beer Stew as being very suitable for a wet winter's day. As normal, she makes it Gluten free and lactose free (Which is obvious as it is meat).

In our celebrity column this week, I have inserted an article about Steve Rosenberg. Steve has for the past 20 years and more been the BBC's man in Moscow, and he literally seem to have access to everyone. This does not make him popular with Putin, who he has also interviewed. It is an interesting story, which I hope you will enjoy.

May I thank all our contributors

In the next month or so, can I draw your attention to some events which will be happening at the Ralli Hall, in particular their 70s disco, and before that the Purim Party arranged by Rabbi Efune.

In case you cannot find the articles - try the following:-

Carolyne Davis is in News from Israel which comes under the heading of Jewish Life and Israel.
Barbra Paskin's Letter from Hollywood is first under the Entertainment section.
Rachelle's Recipes are in the same section.
Jack Kaye's Albion Gazettes are under Sport.
This week's Parsha comes under the heading of Religious Community

I hope you have a great Shabbos and an enjoyable week to follow.

Keep warm.
