Carolyne Davis Reports

June 21, 2024

It's reaching boiling point.

Last week the temperatures in Eilat actually reached 49 ! But that was nothing compared to the temperature of the people who came out in the designated demo area of Caplan (Tel Aviv) , demanding that the government do more to release the hostages.

Despite the IDF suffering its deadliest weekend in months, with the tragic loss of ten or more soldiers, the army remains solidly committed to continue in its hunt for the Hamas murderers, and preventing another October 7th. Two more soldiers have fallen and three seriously injured yesterday. World opinion is holding back the hand of the IDF and consequently we are losing too many heroes.

Never before has a country been asked to consider the needs and safety of the enemy over the needs and safety of their own soldiers and civilians . The IDF who are the most moral army in the world is being held to an impossible and unprecedented standard of warfare. This is anti semitism at its highest and at government level ! The lies and myths that have been pumped out by the media and the UN  since October 7th have allowed no facts to stand in their way as they stampede to destroy all credibility .

The Arab world is delighted to see the Jewish State trashed hourly by even the main stream media and the useful idiots on the streets of London are  unwittingly ushering their own Islamic revolution. In the minds of the liberal left, famine, genocide and child murderers walk hand in hand with “the Jew and Israel”  ! They are willingly putting themselves into the mouth of the tiger.

There is a lot of pressure on Bibi to step down, especially since his war cabinet has collapsed,  and there are widespread calls for an immediate  election, something that was unthinkable even a few weeks ago as the country was  in so much chaos that adding an election, however much  needed, it  just wasn’t the right thing to do.

A lot of reservists have returned to civilian life and except for the north much of the country is functioning close to normal, therefore a vote of no confidence , triggering an election is possible.

The people, however, feel nothing like normal, and until all the hostages are recovered, Am Yisrael are walking around with a festering wound that cannot start to heal. After 257 days, 120 people are in captivity and it is thought perhaps up to half have already perished.

Close to 90,000 Israelis remain displaced from their homes and places of work. The medical community are dealing with nearly 10,000  physically injured, without even mentioning the mental health issues that are arising.

Over  1,500 Israelis lost their lives since October 7th, leaving the whole country grieving.  The people are strong and brave but mental anguish and uncertain times are seeing Israel at her most challenged since the War of Independence.

The vulnerability that was exposed on October 7th is being blamed on both complacency and downright negligence. Reports are emerging showing there was clear intelligence indicating Hamas were planning a large scale invasion,  but those and the reports from the “look out girls” on the border were ignored. Heads must roll in Israel once this war is over,  but for now with the north becoming more threatening daily, Israel must just concentrate on defending herself and finding a way to bring the hostages home.

Qatar say they are trying to pressurise Hamas to agree to the ceasefire deal that Israel has accepted. Hamas still remain the only obstacle to peace and stability in Gaza. Unfortunately, they  have huge support from their people, who despite their suffering, continue to be complicit in their crimes ;  hiding hostages, storing weapons and most homes giving shelter to terrorists and allowing them free access through the remaining tunnels. Tunnels are still being uncovered even in children’s bedrooms where the children are being used as human shields .

In Rafah, the IDF are sweeping the area and find huge stockpiles of weapons and tunnels in virtually every home !

Hamas are still able to fire rockets into Israel and as yet are not totally defeated and are showing no signs of surrender!

Israel is preparing herself for a full scale war against Hezbollah and that is a very frightening scenario,  as we know Hezbollah have sophisticated and long range weapons with heavy war heads, and unlimited financial support from Tehran.

The  Hezbollah Lebanese  leader Nasralla, has threatened both Israel and Cyprus this week.  The Iranian backed militia group has threatened to invade Israel from land sea and air. Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz warned that “operational plans for an offensive in Lebanon were approved and validated”. In a show of strength Hezbollah unleashed it largest volley of drones and rockets on Israel this week.

One of the main worries for Israel is their electricity grid, as with such high temperatures the country cannot function for long without electricity .

Netanyahu talks of defeating Hamas,  but only of deterring Hezbollah, so it is unclear how the northern theatre will develop. We are teetering on the brink of all out war and Hezbollah  are feeling extremely threatened ; consequently they are now unpredictable.

Global trade is still being impacted by the belligerent Houthi who have not been deterred,  but strengthened by the reluctance of the Western World to really wade in and help Israel defeat the Islamic threat that is growing daily. They are freely targeting ships in the Red Sea without any serious  consequences. To date the US and allied forces have limited their responses mostly to intercepting missiles.

We are now sojourned in London enjoying the wind and rain ( it has improved slightly) and trying to avoid “From the River to the Sea” brigade.

My news may be slightly more intermittent in the next few weeks, so I do apologise , and can only advise , Do Not Believe what you read and see in the main stream. Download i24 for up to date and accurate Israel news in English.

Shabbat Shalom.

Kind Regards
