Carolyne Davis puts us in the picture as to how she sees things in Israel

The coalition chosen by Bibi to secure his power base is clearly not working to the country’s benefit.
One could accept a far right coalition if they managed to achieve what they had promised and safeguarded the people, However, a totally opposite scenario is emerging. Terror attacks, especially in the areas in which they are dedicated to protect, have increased with many innocents losing their lives and their loved ones.
The Jerusalem post reported today that this year is the deadliest since the Second Intifada, with 34 victims of terror !
Every week there is another attack, so one can only conclude that all law and order has broken down in the West Bank areas and the terrorists are managing to infiltrate undetected into Jeruslaem and other areas and carry out random attacks.
In March, Tel Aviv suffered a horrific attack in Dizengoff and a ramming attack in April. As recently as August a terrorist drew and fired a gun in Tel Aviv. These murderous attacks not only steal innocent lives, they wreck the lives of so many and put fear into the hearts of everyone.
In Nablus, a historical and traditionally Jewish area of much significance , the entrance to Joseph’s Tomb was booby trapped Wednesday and an IDF officer and 4 soldiers were injured trying to clear the entrance.
Clearly, our intelligence and security services are being overwhelmed and the territories of Judea Samaria are flowing with illegal weapons and radicalised young Palestinians willing to become “martyrs “ by committing murder against random Jews or any passer by in the secure knowledge that their families will be handsomely rewarded. Candies will handed out and they will be celebrated on the journey to their own premature graves.
The protests against the judicial reforms continue and much attention is given In the media to the protesters and resources are being wasted, policing these ongoing protests. The country needs to pull together and concentrate all their efforts in preserving lives and preventing the terror attacks.
The source of the weapons needs to be found and destroyed. The recent raids on Jenin uncovered dens of illegal weapons, but this is only the tip of the iceberg and the government needs to seriously rethink the status quo in the Arab areas, as the PA is not minded to clamp down.
Thursday, a truck was rammed into off-duty troops at a check point near Modi’in, killing one soldier and wounding 6 others.
The Oslo Accords: where Israel accepted the PLO as the representatives of the Palestinians and gave governing responsibilities in both Gaza and the West Bank in exchange for the recognition of Israel’s right to exist in peace is dead in the water. Israel still abides by the agreements but the PA who quickly lost control of Gaza are now losing control of their areas in the West Bank. They are consistently inciting violence and support the resistance which supports the terror. The pay to slay scheme continues under their administration. The Accords were designed to be a stepping stone to a “2 State Solution”. This clearly is not possible as Israel would no longer be able to protect the crumbling security she has today. A new plan is badly needed. New leadership is well overdue.
The talks with Saudi could pave a path forward as Israel’s neighbours no longer see a benefit in a perpetual state of war with the Jewish State, since Iran has become a much bigger threat to the region. They recognise the need to have Israel on-side together with her defence technology. They have realised that if Iran fries Israel , they fry too. The talks Saudi had with Iran are worrying for the other players as we need a united front against the mad mullahs.
Interestingly, a flight from the Seychelles to Israel ran into difficulties mid air and was forced to land in Jeddah. The Israelis aboard were given a warm welcome by the Saudis, so there is much hope that warmer relations can be nurtured.
With the High Holidays approaching, Israelis are being warned to be extra vigilant abroad as it is thought Iran may try to abduct and kidnap Israelis to be used as bargaining chips.
Syria alleges that Israel struck Aleppo airport in an effort to disrupt weapons supplies from Iran to Hezbollah. Due to the inaction of the UN against the illegal stockpile of weapons in the hands of the terrorist group Hezbollah, Israel is left with no option but to try to limit the weapons which currently are estimated to stand at around 150,000, sitting directly on our northern border, threatening the stability of the whole region.
As the weather is showing signs of cooling , the new school term is due to start September 1st but High School teachers are still negotiating salaries and strikes are threatened.
Congratulations to the Israeli rhythmic gymnastics for winning the first ever gold medal at the world Rhythmic Gymnastic Championships. The team will likely now compete in the Olympic Games next year in Paris.
