Duplicity is totally acceptable and promoted in some cultures ….
The main problem Trump and the West is facing is that they are negotiating according to Judeo/Christian values placing the sanctity of life and long term national security first .
This is not a currency Iran can understand or deal with. Their priorities are power, saving face and following a rigid religious ideology at any cost .
They have no incentive to make a deal or surrender as both outcomes cost them theirs aims and destroy their power and their hold over the country.
Tragically , the only way to displace the Mullahs and dismantle their proxies is to totally destroy them both
Militarily and economically .
Their destruction will strengthen the USA and Israel, but weaken countries who rely on their cheap oil like Russia & China and benefit from them keeping the USA on their toes . These countries could now come to the aid of Iran as they do not want a stronger USA.
The Europeans who would like to think the war is no concern of theirs, will soon start to feel the cost of not opening The Straits of Hormuz, as their oil prices rise and they start to feel shortages at the pump .
Trump doesn’t need the oil, so naturally can’t understand why the Europeans are refusing to fight for what is the life blood of their economies .
Maybe they thought if they kept their heads long enough , Iran would be nice to them, as what is a little bit of terrorism here and there compared to the huge price rises that are soon to filter through .
Keir Starmer says don’t worry, he has a plan , although he it does seem to include backing down and keeping the ceasefire, despite having seen what little regard Iran has for human life . He seems to have airbrushed out the tens of thousands killed at the demonstrations and the indiscriminate bombing of neighbouring countries who were not attacking Iran .
He has never cared or acknowledged when Israel suffers hundreds of bombs a day on civilian areas .
The Western media only ever refer to Israel as an aggressor leaving aside that Hezbollah, a proxy of Iran, who sat immediately on the northern border , destroyed Lebanon from within and have been bombing and continue to bomb and attack Israel relentlessly, preparing and planning for another October 7th .
Israelis know that October 7th was a dress rehearsal for what is to come . Iran and Hamas have never hidden their intention to kill the whole of Israel and wipe the state off the face of the earth . Running back and forth to the shelters , all day and all night may be horrendous but what choice is there ?
If Iran gets a nuclear bomb, running to the shelters won’t help anyone .
Pakistan were accepted by the world as honest peace brokers despite their defence minister saying Israel was “ evil and a curse for humanity” .
At least Starmer has opened one eye and now he is accepting that the war will affect the UK , but it still doesn’t look like he is going to do anything about it except to continue to antagonise the UK’s most important ally just to pander to the vote of a certain minority ! There’s stupid and there’s very f**k**g stupid .
We now need to wait and see if Trump will finish what he started and make the world a safer place or if he will back away leaving a wounded but victorious , merciless and savage regime to rebuild and once again become the biggest threat to humanity since the Nazi swallowed up and murdered Europe .
