With Friends like US, who needs enemies?

It seems as if the USA wants Israel to defeat Hamas and Hezbollah with one hand tied behind our backs.
Si vi pacem, para bellum, ( For peace prepare for war ) has never rung truer .
As soon as Israel took the border crossing at Kerem Shalom, we could sense the sweat started to drip down Sinwar’s face as he felt his day of reckoning drawing closer and the attitude changed within hours. We were back to negotiating the release of the hostages, but now our hand is weak and there is no progress since the announcement that the US has halted our shipments of arms. Only the threat of total destruction will yield results.
Throughout this war the Biden administration has been both a help and a hinderance, who we cannot rely upon completely . This wavering support has undoubtedly costs lives as we should not still be fighting this war. We have both superior military strength and defences, but we are constantly held back by our allies.
The US and our other allies must bear some responsibility of October 7th, as every mini war since 2007, Israel has been pressurised to cease fire prematurely. If we are forced once again this time, we will be back in the vicious circle of having to fight another war. Gaza will be awash with hardened criminals released from Israeli jails and the knowledge that the international community do not support their destruction, giving them carte blanche to attack us again without fear.
Since the war started over 600 Israeli soldiers have been lost, including those killed this week while working at the Kerem Shalom crossing to ensure aid reaches those in need. Even though Hamas wilfully bombed the crossing, Israel found herself under threat form the US, to re-open it immediately.
Really if the Americans are so concerned about the aid , they should send their sons and daughters to man the crossing and not expect us to sacrifice our young people to send food and aid to an enemy that has vowed our destruction.
These innocent civilians, are they are portrayed are not as innocent as many would like to think. We have first hand evidence from released hostages of how the civilians tried to attack them. Of course, the children are innocent, but it is not really Israel’s first priority to protect the children of the enemy at the cost of the lives of our own children . And that is a huge problem : many of our soldiers are 18 or 19 years old, having only left school last year and we are expecting them to face hardened terrorists who are proud to murder babes, rape young girls and kidnap old people.
The Egyptians are stopping all aid lorries until Israel re-opens the Karem Shalom crossing. Those blocking the aid from Jordan to Gaza near Mitzpe Ramon have been water cannoned and arrested.
Apparently UNWRA are now also stealing the aid and selling it at exorbitant prices. The UN are charged with distributing the aid and UNWRA are a branch of the UN !
Something is really not right with the message coming from the US , especially when you consider this is the country that chose to murder millions in minutes with an atom bomb to protect themselves and bring their war to a quick close. It is estimated that over 600,000 civilians died in the Vietnam War. Israel is fighting for her survival, not some ideological war that is far from her borders but a war that is minutes from our borders.
Bibi has said “If we have to stand alone, we will stand alone”. Sounds familiar !
It is being reported that we are already in control of eastern Rafah and have eliminated 50 Hamas terrorists . PIJ are firing rockets, throwing grenades and using machine guns against the IDF.
Three of our soldiers have been wounded in a booby trapped tunnel in Rafah, and another 20 year old soldier has died today.
Rockets attacked the north today as they do most days, plus four rounds of suicide drones. The Houthi remain belligerent attacking three ships and expanding into the Indian Ocean. Eilat had rockets aimed at us from Iraq which were intercepted before they reached Israeli airspace.
We need Biden to send the arms, we must ratchet up the military pressure and return to the negotiations as soon as possible. Every day is a day in hell for the remaining hostages, and we must do everyone to secure their immediate release.
Shabbat Shalom and may our soldiers stay safe and may our hostages find the strength to hold on and stay strong.
Kind Regards
Carolyne Davis
