What's going on in Israel?

September 25, 2024

Shock, horror, disbelief , anger, sorrow, frustration , and now a steely determination are just some of the emotions being felt in Israel since October 7th. One could add regret that Israel took the passive path for so long, and only now are the capabilities of her enemies being fully revealed and there may be more surprises to come.

October 7th had no saving grace, we can only accept that a total disaster fell upon the head of the Jewish State,  from the first rocket fired that morning until today when 101 are still in captivity, the yet unconfirmed number murdered in captivity , the 1652 Israelis who have perished and the thousands injured who face lives changed beyond comprehension.

Gaza lays in ruins , but the message their leaders send is that’s ok as long as we are fighting Israel.

A different shock revealed itself when the organisations, such as the UN, that should have run to condemn the unprovoked attack, failed miserably in their mandate.

The free world should have stood firmly by Israel’s side  and shown the tyrants that  truth, freedom and democracy  would stand tall. But no, they urged restraint, even stopped supplying and dealing with Israel as it offended them that the Jewish State could  dare to defend itself and had decided at last, to destroy the enemy on its doorstep, in order to prevent the promised reoccurrence of October 7th.

It is understood that Israeli intelligence discovered that the northern tentacle of Iran’s axis of evil was planning its own invasion to take the area around the Galilee . Hezbollah had been supporting Hamas by firing daily rockets into the north, but it seems a bigger plan was in the making. Until now they had just been keeping the IDF busy, but as we saw last week, with the audacious attack on their pagers and walkie talkies, this time Israel was one step ahead.

Having been tumbled, with hundreds if not thousands of their main operatives blinded or left  clutching  the leftovers of their genitals, they have taken the gloves off and are firing hundreds of rockets each day into Israel.

The IDF have launched extensive strikes against the Hezbollah terror targets in Lebanon , including civilian  buildings full of weapons, while at the same time targeted strikes have been eliminating their leaders. Over 1,500 targets have been destroyed in 2,000 strike,  in the last few days alone.

The head of Hezbollah  missile unit ,Ibrahim Qubais, joined his mate Ibrahim Aqil  (head of operations ) in paradise (not sure if they took their genitals  intact or not, but never mind! ) : both  had been involved in many terror attacks since the 1980’s . Ali Karki,  a replacement for Aqil was quickly put in place, and just as quickly eliminated. Nasrallah, sits in his bunker, as Head Rat , but his minions are very much depleted.

Hezbollah stepped up their game this morning by firing a huge ballistic missile,  (warhead of 1,200 kg)  at the centre of the country. Sirens were heard in Tel Aviv and Netanya. The missile flew over Netanya, who had their first siren since the start of the war and the intercepting explosion could be heard all over the Dan region in the centre of the country.

Israel has a few different defence systems . The one we hear most about is the Iron Dome, but ballistic missiles travel too fast (4,000 km an hour !)  and are too large for the Iron Dome and this one was destroyed by the David’s Sling. If the missile is higher in the atmosphere then the Arrow interceptor would be deployed as it has been for others fired from Iraq and Yemen. Iraqi militia sent 3 attacks overnight including 2 suicide drones and a cruise missile. One missile got through and damaged an IDF base in the Jordan Valley.

Most people can make it to an air raid shelter, but we must remember that there are the elderly, the sick and the young who perhaps cannot be moved or cannot move so quickly and can only  sit and pray.

Israel has the capability to destroy most missiles that come in, but there are failures in the system and the remaining people in the north are advised to be very close to a shelter at all times. Education is not running and hospitals have moved patients to the basements. Around 80,000 people are evacuated to other parts of the country.

Israel always views attacks on the centre, which is dense and highly populated,  as an escalation so we can expect to see some severe retaliation today. Lebanese channels are reporting the highway leading to Beirut is blocked due to IAF attacks.

Air defence systems were activated in Syria and it is reported that many Hezbollah fighters are running to Syria. They could soon be arriving on the shores of Britain as that is well established people smuggling route.

Israel has declared a special security situation for the whole country, akin to a state of emergency ,so that the government can put restrictions quickly in place to protect the people.

Iran have apparently declined to join Hezbollah directly in the fight, preferring to use proxies to terrorise the world.

Bibi is leaving to address the UN tomorrow (Thursday ) and after a row it is decided he can return to Israel on Shabbat due to the state of war and the lives at risk.

Most commercial airlines have cancelled flights into both Israel and Lebanon and those except ElAl,  who haven’t,  probably will today , as the cruise  missile flew close to some aircrafts in the sky.

Kind Regards
