The left and the right wing are marching in London. The only wing really that Jewish people can safely and happily sit in nowadays is the “survival wing”. The right wing march through London looked like a fascist gathering and the Left Wing demonstrations outside JW3 ( the Jewish centre in Finchley Road) was so threatening that I cannot understand how this is allowed. It was violently intimidating with the new death threat of “Intifada Revolution “ with blood stained handprints which is symbolic of the two young soldiers who were lynched after accidentally entering the Palestinian area of Ramallah in 2000.
Ramallah is the power house capital of the Palestinian Authority who never cease to scream and shout about the non existent apartheid in Israel, but whose Police stood idly by while a crowd of 1,000 massacred two young soldiers !
The Metropolitan Police are not much better and managed only one arrest from the screaming mob baying for blood and calling for an Intifada in which previously 1322 Israelis were killed , of which the vast majority were innocent civilians.
At this time when Israeli blood is being shed like water ( and I say Israeli blood as Arabs, Jews, Druze, Christians and Muslims are being indiscriminate targeted, the 24 year old man killed in Ma’alot today was called Mohammed Naim ) a dangerous front promoting blood libels and accusations of genocide and starvations has opened up on the streets of London. Hamas are not being held responsible for the deaths they caused by invading Israel on October 7th.
Young soldiers are still falling daily in both Gaza and Lebanon, and the fact that after more than a year of non stop war Israel is still being bombarded with rockets and drones shows just how wrong Biden has been at every turn urging caution and restraint.
The “All Eyes on Rafah” campaign just left Biden looking like the fool he is, as Israel proved how vital clearing the vipers nest of Rafah was when they found the rat Sinwar sitting in the rubble.
Now the Europeans and the US are crying for UNWRA. Well, there couldn’t have been a more deserving organisation to be banned since Al Queda and ISIS. They may not have been doing the killing, although they did join in on October 7th, but were complicit for years in the crimes of Hamas, they covered for them, they hid their weapons in their schools and hospitals, they produced their school books which poisoned the minds of their children. They were the one organisation that helped to promote the lie that the Palestinians were helpless victims, 75 years after the event , who could only rely on hand outs and their only path was Jihad. And behind UNWRA sits the UN in their huge buildings passing resolution after resolution against Israel while ignoring the real genocides and cosying up to the dictators of the world.
Banning UNWRA is a very positive step for the future of the region. For decades UNWRA ran schools for children filled with text books of extremism and hate. They had facilities that were a shield for terrorist offices and weapons storage. The mis-use of this “neutral” organisation for the “betterment of the civilians” has been known for years and yet the world ignored the evil and did nothing. The banning will focus minds and force the world to insist that a new mission is created with clear guidelines for the good of the people….and with far stricter oversight.
Israel’s attack on Iran has rendered Iran now unable to defend herself and it is reported that their weapon production factories have been destroyed. At this stage it is probably just a show of strength as a warning to back off, call Hezbollah off, and stop funding proxy terrorist groups, as Israel has now shown them how easily they can infiltrate their airspace, but as yet has not launched an all out attack on their infrastructure and oil fields.
Clearly , the US pressed the right buttons to limit the attack and in reality Israel does need the support of the US, even if at times it is rather lukewarm and ambiguous.
There are rumours that Israel is planning a pre-emptive strike against Iran if they suspect that Iran is going to strike back. The Prime Minister is none too pleased about his house being hit by a drone, never mind the hundreds of drones that Iran have twice launched indiscriminately at the whole country.
The Chief of Staff LTG Herzl Halevi stated today “ The event is not over, we are in the midst of it “, when he visited the Ramon airbase to meet with the hero pilots.
Despite all the hard talk and in the noise of the constant rockets and drones there remains 101 people missing in Gaza and not yet a word about their condition or whereabouts. Among those kidnapped were the two little “Gingy” babies who were snatched in their mother’s arms who have not been heard of since and Israel cannot rest until all 101, dead or alive, are brought home.It is known that 36 have already perished in Gaza, but that leaves 66 people who could possibly be alive.
Israel has sent a negotiating team to Doha. Hamas demands a total withdrawal of the IDF for the release of the hostages. This is unlikely to be agreed unless and until a mechanism can be put into place that guarantees that Hamas will not regroup and rearm. An Egyptian proposal for a 2 day cease fire was rejected by Hamas.
We cannot claim this war is nearly over as in this last week alone nearly 60 children have lost a parent, with so many soldiers falling. It is estimated that Hamas still has up to 6,000 active fighters and Hezbollah still has around 25% of its huge arsenal of weapons intact. The fire from the north has reduced from around 200 projectiles a day to around 100. The IDF are actively destroying weapon warehouses, bringing weapons back into Israel, and preventing new supplies from entering the country.
The largest tunnel found yet in Lebanon was destroyed with 400 tons of explosives on Shabbat !
A bus was rammed by a truck near Tel Aviv, causing 1 death and 24 injuries. Those injured were mostly pensioners on a day out disembarking from a coach. Israel has suffered so many of these mindless terror attacks that achieve nothing but sorrow and grief.
Iraqi militia continue to fire drones towards the north and Eilat which are mostly intercepted before they reach Israeli airspace. The noise travels, and friends and family are reporting very busy skies. Israel is now waiting for November 5th but not for more fireworks, (there are more than enough ) but to see the results of the US election which will have a huge impact on the way the war continues.
The news looks dreadful but we must recognise the amazing progress Israel has made (albeit at a terrible price) to destroy an enemy that was so much more powerful and ready then we knew.
The strike against Iran was a huge achievement with 100 aircrafts returning home safely. The war against Hamas has been messy, but it was an unprecedented theatre of war, and the IDF have performed admirably . The hits against Hezbollah were ingenious and will go down into history together with raids like Entebbe.
Israel is a thousand times safer now than it was October 6th, we just didn’t know it and were living in a false reality. Now we know exactly what dangers we are facing , and it would seem, how to neutralise them , at least temporarily .
A long term plan is needed but that will involve the other Arab states and for now we must wait to see if Iran foolishly decides to retaliate and what the results are on November 5th.
Kind Regards
Carolyne Davis
