Overnight oats

The trend for overnight oats has heightened in the last two years however the concept was created in the early 1900s by Dr Maximilian Oskar Bircher- Benner. I wasn't the greatest fan of having oats for breakfast however now I can get gluten free oats I have discovered the benefits Of this breakfast.

As oats are rich in anti-toxins, protein magnesium potassium they boost the immune system And because they're slow burning they keep hunger at bay well into lunchtime. They also have the added benefits that if you have them in your fridge ready prepared, you're not tempted to skip breakfast in the morning because your breakfast is waiting for you.

There are many ways to make overnight oats, I make mine gluten and dairy free, but you can use any type of milk, any berries or fruit, and any type of sweetener, preferably not refined sugar.

Some people add chia seeds, or nuts to the overnight oats, I tend to use fresh passion fruits because they're one of my favourite fruits and they add an extra texture. Don't be afraid to experiment to make this to your personal taste.

I have given the recipe to serve one, but you can double or triple the quantity.

I have certainly become an overnight oat fan not for every breakfast but at least two or three times a week when I know I'm going to be pushed for time in the morning and have a busy day of appointments ahead.
