Moving towards the Yomtovim - 1
Friday 8th September
One week tonight we shall be ushering in Rosh Hashana. How will you be doing it? Will you be joining the Ralli Hall extravaganza, or having a family meal or just quietly at home? Whichever it is, I hope it goes well and that the New Year is one which is healthy happy and successful.
We are going to be updating the website almost every day next week. I am aware that for many once Yomtov comes in they will absent themselves from the internet till Sunday.
Corinne Rachelle is preparing a set of recipes suitable for the season. She has a Honey Cake recipe, which looks very good indeed. But she also has written a piece on the importance of Simonim. I have to admit that I had not heard the expression and I found the article to be particularly interesting.
Thank you Jack Kaye for your report on Brighton and Hove Albion's match against Newcastle United, which Brighton won 3-1 and their 18 year old striker, showed his class by getting 3 goals.
This week's Parsha - Nitzavim is also presented under the Religious Community.
Next week we will be hearing from Carolyne Davis with her News from Israel. We will have more recipes, some music for the festivals, and more Showbiz as well as any other news we can collect between now and then.
In the mean time, it seems that the hot weather will calm down after Sunday, so if you are going out take care, and keep hydrated.
Finally it has been suggested that I give more information about Chabad than any other Shul. This is not completely true. I try to pass on information about New Church Road as well. However the other Shuls do not send me any information for me to put down, and one Shul has point-blank told me not to include anything about them.
However whichever Shul you belong to if you want something publicised, that is what we are here for.
I wish you Good Shabbos and a great weekend
Nick
