Good Shabbos 7th March

March 7, 2025

Good Shabbos to all, , what a lovely week weatherwise we have had. I do hope this dry spell is not the forerunner of farmers claiming that because of a lack of rain in March, our crops are not up to standard!

It has also been a fairly quiet week as far as the Israel-Gaza conflict is concerned. Whether this is true, or just that the media is so pre-occupied with Ukraine, that important news has escaped us.

Apparently Donald Trump has sent a team to Qatar to negotiate directly with Hamas, but no reports have been forthcoming as yet regarding this. Israel has made its demands clear for the return of all the hostages, dead and alive before a phase 2 of the cease fire can go ahead.

Meanwhile Israel and USA have made it clear that the first thoughts of the conference in Cairo, where the Arab League are trying to propose a solution to the whole conflict, are not in any way suitable.

Maybe not as important, but much more pleasurable was the win of Brighton and Hove Albion in Newcastle in the FA Cup - Now they have a chance to avenge to 7-0 thrashing by Nottingham Forest, when the Seagull play them at home in the quarter-final. Thank you so much to Jack Kaye for him Albion Chronicle 31 which is in our Sports section.

Having spent much of my 20s living in Italy, I love Italian food and I am delighted that Rachelle has given us a recipe for Roasted Vegetable Lasagne which is gluten free and dairy free. It looks delicious and well worth the bother of making yourself.

This week's Parsha - Tetsaveh - tells of the clothing of the High Priests. It goes into every detail. There is also an extra slice of Parsha, Zachor which is read because this is the Shabbat before Purim

I am delighted to say that things are going well at Top Hat Production, and their Magical Time show promises to be a superb production. It would be great if we could fill the Ralli Hall for our two performances on the evening of 22nd and matinee of 23rd March.

Meanwhile Shabbat Shalom

Nick
