On the 7th, several hundred people met in Palmeira Square, to take part either in the reading of the 1251 names of people killed in the massacre last year, or to listen to the service in the evening. It was a magnificent turn-out.

Last week we wished each other Shena Tova - Time will tell just how good and sweet it will have been. I noticed that on Radio 4's Today Programme there was a very fair treatment of the situation including an interview with the Israeli Ambassador. Their accent was definitely on the horrors of October 7th.
However on BBC's Breakfast programme, all they concentrated on were the loss of life in Gaza and Lebanon and the scale of the Israeli retribution, including the UN's judgement that it was a war crime.
It seems strange to switch from the above to football, but in every darkness we need some light. Jack Kaye wrote the 6th chapter to his Albion Chronicle all about defeat . The 7th chapter will recount about a magnificent comeback victory against Spurs. Because of the holidays, we are updating the website a bit early, but Chapter 7 will appear over the weekend, I am sure.
